India's Indo Asian News Service (IANS) is reporting that Rosie O'Donnell, subject of a documentary film debuted on HBO last night, said supermodel Naomi Campbell 'needed someone to 'kick her ass.'
O'Donnell's statement follows Campbell's being charged with assault when she allegedly threw a cell phone at her assistant, reportedly over a missing pair of jeans.
According to the report from INIS, O'Donnell said, "I just picture this cute little Mexican woman working saying, 'Excuse me Miss Campbell can I possibly get you... ' and Naomi going, 'Get away from me, bam bam bam!' To make matters worse she had that jewel-encrusted cell phone."
O'Donnell, who launched a successful career as a television talk show host following years of doing stand-up comedy and films, came out as a lesbian in 2002. In 2004, O'Donnell married her partner Kelli Carpenter at San Francisco's city hall. A California court later invalidated O'Donnell's marriage and the marriages of thousands of other gay and lesbian couples who were issued marriage licenses under the direction of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.
"She looks like you could snap her in two but she is a tough-ass, kick-ass woman and I would actually like to fight her," The INIS report claims Rosie said, "I think for all the people that she has beaten up, I think she needs a big 200 pound lesbian to kick her ass.'
Messages left for Ms. O'Donnell's publicity agent at PMK-HBH Public Relations have not been returned.
