"Because of that some radio stations in the States wouldn't play it. The guy wrote it on Urban Dictionary, which I've used for years and 'chasing pavements' was never on there before." Adele said that the song was about a falling out with an ex-boyfriend. "He's a boy who went bad, but he's good now... we've made up." The music video for "Chasing Pavements" follows:
American radio stations are refusing to play a British hit song, "Chasing Pavements," because it's been mistaken for a "gay anthem," Stuff reported.
