PageOneQ The results show that the number of Republican delegates supporting full civil marriage has doubled since 2004, from three points to six points. The right to form a civil union went up two points to 43, while opposition to any form of legal recognition dropped three points to 46. The participants in this poll were a pool of 970 Democratic and 854 Republican delegates, interviewed between July 16 and August 17, 2008. Full results of the poll are available at this link.
A recently released CBS/New York Times poll shows a slight increase, compared to 2004, in the number of Republican delegates that support some form of legal recognition for same-sex couples.
